It is very bittersweet for me to say, but I think it is time that I
part with my 2002 G500. It is the best car I have ever owned and my
ownership has been a blast. The car has been the center of my hobbies
for a little over two years and it has opened up doors to meeting
great people in the car community. I am ready to sell as my life is
changing and so are my priorities. Like I said, it's very
bittersweet, but I hope this can give someone else an opportunity to
get into one of these amazing trucks.
Info on the G:
VIN: WDCYR49E52X128334
Title: Clean title in my name. I have a paid professional VIN report that I would be happy to send over to any interested parties via email.
Owners: 4 (You would be the 5th)
Location: Pittsburgh, PA
Debt: No liens. I own the vehicle outright.
Miles: 338,768 mi (545,194 km)
Keys: 2 keys, 1 backup flat key, and wheel cover key
Condition: Runs and drives with no mechanical issues
Options: I would be happy to send the data card upon request.
Shipping: I would be happy to help set up domestic shipping in the USA.
Payments: Either an in-person transfer at the bank, or via an escrow. (I have used Escrow.com before and had a great experience)
Inspections: The car passed the WV inspection process when its mileage and condition were certified for the 500,000 km badge from the Mercedes Benz Classics program, at the Mercedes Benz dealer in Morgantown, WV. It passed a mechanical and common-corrosion-point inspection at the Mercedes Benz dealership in Santa Fe, NM in 2024. For PA/Allegheny County inspection, it passed mechanically at Mercedes Benz of Pittsburgh but failed emissions due to the extended O2 sensor wire; it then passed both mechanical and emissions inspection at an independent PA shop, whose stickers are what you see in the photos. In total, four separate mechanics/shops have inspected and validated the truck's roadworthiness.
My usage: I took the car on light trails with friends in and around my hometown and the Morgantown, WV area. Since moving to Pittsburgh, PA the car has not left the pavement. I never drive the car during the winter to avoid the corrosive road salt. The car is stored in a locked garage as per my collector car insurance policy. I use it as a "zip code car" (as in it pretty much never leaves my zip code) where I take it to the Pittsburgh North and South Hills cars and coffee meets as well as to local parks and events in the summer. I have also driven long distances across WV, PA, and OH in the G with no issues.
Installed Mods, Updates, and Upgrades: (All mods/parts come with vehicle)
6 Original G500 18" wheels (One is installed as a spare, 2 have Geolandar tires, 4 are bare)
4 2014 G55 AMG 20" wheels (As seen in pictures)
Front bumper from 2014 G55 AMG
Rear bumper from 2014 G55 AMG
Updated rear tail lights from 2014 G55 AMG
Aftermarket exhaust (I do not know the brand, but it is high quality)
2014 AMG G55 mufflers
Konig extended travel shocks, but the springs are factory spec. The shocks are adjustable and are set 4 clicks from max firmness. (They deliver a very near-OEM ride.)
Steering damper is aftermarket from Fox. It is nitrogen-filled and adjustable. (OEM steering damper bracket is included in the box of spare parts.)
Tires on the 20" wheels are Yokohama Advan S/T M.O (~7,000-10,000 miles of tread left)
Continental head unit upgrade (done in 2024)
Upgraded speakers with Shiann's 3D printed adapters (done in 2024)
Note on the 2014 AMG parts: they were sold to the 2nd owner of the car when a forum member from Texas wanted to fully overhaul his G55 with overlanding parts. Due to the aftermarket exhaust, the G has had its O2 sensor wires lengthened, which some municipalities do not like. The O2 sensors themselves are installed and functional.
